what does it take to get people out of the house, these days, in A-town?
I'm truly stunned at the lack of audience reported at no fewer than five events of the past week or so.
Tangential but hey: the sky is falling. Why are we in this town? What is here to protect or love or nurture? Help me out here and tell me why effort isn't wasted in this city.

Re: jesus fickin xristamidey
Thu, September 24, 2009 - 6:40 AMI really don't stay at home too much anymore, for me the problem is twofold:
1) either not aware of the event
2) can't afford to attend
As for the sky falling, from what I read we're in for a second (albeit less apocalyptic) wave of sky falling, and Atlanta is a ripe target. The only reason why I returned was more for the people here, not the place itself. However unlike landmarks, houses, etc, I can conceivably persuade or failing that tie up and kidnap said people and take them with me somewhere else.
This idea however is not new, I believe we have kicked it around before... -

Thu, September 24, 2009 - 4:35 PMIf they wold just submit, the tying up would not be necessary. -

Fri, September 25, 2009 - 2:48 PMThere is something weird about this town. It's as if folks have no soul, no connection to community. -

Fri, September 25, 2009 - 2:55 PMI'm wondering if its historical; I mean: has it always been this way and I just didn't notice because of the quality and energy of the society I moved in 10-20 yrs ago?
I mean... shit: shows used to be *crowded* -

Thu, October 1, 2009 - 6:36 AMOne curiosity, Wired's little report on "The top ten Cities for young people", which was more for cities based on community activity, local music groups, artists, etc (you know how nobody over 30 is into that sort of thing), Seattle was at #1, DC and NYC tied for #2 and Atlanta wasn't even on the list. -

small room; our friends and the friends of the other performers sort of made it seem full...
...let's burn this town to the ground. 3rd time's the charm. -

Sun, September 27, 2009 - 4:44 PMlast night was nice.
after some drinking at the Porter we made it to EyeDrum for the very end of the 24 hour danceparty, running into a few folks. we were there late at that place was doing okay.
I think it might be a combo of today's kids being less extroverted than we were and us being old now.
shoot the kids burn the city.
its the only reasonable thing to do. -

The last two times were outside forces, maybe this time if we do it ourselves we'll do it right? -

Re: jesus fickin xristamidey
Thu, October 1, 2009 - 9:11 PMloki and i witnesing the mill fire was kind of appocolyptic, there was fire literally raining down all over town, a giant plume of fire and heat that repelled you from 1/4 of a mile away.
I'm sure thats nothing like the major fires that have burned down cities in the past, but still, unless a nuke goes off, or a meteor hits Atlanta, that was prpbably the biggest fire event for the next hundred years. -
